One former New York Giants head coach has landed back on his feet and found work in Denver, and another may soon follow his lead.

As news broke that Pat Shurmur had been hired as the Broncos’ next offensive coordinator, ESPN’s Jordan Raanan also reported that after two years away from the game, Ben McAdoo is ready to return.

The Giants hired McAdoo as their offensive coordinator following the departure of Kevin Gilbride in 2014 and later promoted him to head coach when Tom Coughlin and the team parted ways in 2016.

During his first season as head coach, McAdoo led the Giants to a surprising 11-5 record, but they were immediately bounced from the playoff by the Green Bay Packers.

McAdoo did not fare as well in his second season, overseeing a complete locker room fracture before he was infamously fired in-season alongside longtime general manager Jerry Reese after going 2-10.

Since his Giants termination, McAdoo has fallen off the radar almost entirely, poking his head out occasionally and with little fanfare. However, with multiple jobs opening up around the league, now appears to be the right time for McAdoo to attempt his return.
